Oxytocin Acetate 2mg: A Synthetic Nonapeptide

So oxytocin, it's only nine amino acids. Small, compared to most peptide hormones out there. Made in the hypothalamus, then it gets released from the posterior pituitary into the bloodstream. Funny enough this was actually the very first peptide hormone anyone managed to fully synthesize, Du Vigneaud did it in 1953 and ended up winning a Nobel Prize for it not long after.

Research use only, full stop. Labs only. Not humans. Not animals either.

What It's Made Of

The version here is the acetate salt form. Sequence wise, it's Cys-Tyr-Ile-Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2. There's a ring in there too, a disulfide bond links cysteine 1 and cysteine 6 together, and that's basically what keeps the whole thing stable enough to actually study.

Formula: C43H66N12O12S2
Weight: roughly 1007.19 g/mol
CAS: 50-56-6
Comes as: white solid, lyophilized, so freeze dried powder basically

Worth mentioning, vasopressin gets brought up a lot alongside oxytocin. Structurally they're pretty close, which is exactly why some labs end up studying the two together.

What Researchers Actually Use It For

A few areas come up again and again:

Oxytocin receptor binding and activation
Bonding and social behavior, mostly tested in animals
Stress pathway studies
Neuroendocrine signaling, broadly speaking
Comparing it structurally against other nonapeptides

A lot of teams running Semax studies end up testing oxytocin acetate too, usually when they're trying to compare how different neuropeptides act across behavior or signaling work.

Where It Stands Regulation Wise

No FDA approval here, not for treating anything. Just a research chemical, plain and simple.

Safety Stuff You Should Know

Not a supplement. Just raw material, lab use only, keep it far from kids. There's not a ton of long term safety data floating around yet, so only people who actually know labs should be touching this stuff. Buy it, and you're on the hook to use it legally and for research, nothing else.
